Neighboring Maharashtra is the culturally and economically wealthy state of Gujarat, where the arts flourish in the cities and artisanship thrives in the villages. In the state capital Ahmedabad, Le Corbusier built more buildings than he did in all of the United States. Gujarat is also home to the Gir Wildlife Sanctuary, where the last remaining prides of the Asiatic Lion can be seen.
